We are members of the German Slow Food Association.

The underlying principle of slow food is that it takes time to enjoy.

Our desire is to preserve and bring back to life the most fundamental of all cultures, namely eating culture.

We want our children and grandchildren to enjoy and learn to appreciate the variety of delicious and wholesome ingredients.

Green thinking blends wonderfully with the enjoyment of slow food.

Today it is impossible to be a gourmet and connoisseur without also wanting to protect the environment. The whole foundation of enjoyment – the diversity of crops, wildlife and dishes – is at serious risk from the use of genetic engineering in agriculture and a globalisation process in which only the strongest and biggest producers will survive.

Slow food sees itself as the counterbalance. It is a lobby group that advocates great taste! We are committed to diversity and inherent particularity.

Slow food does more than just fly in the face of fast food. Instead it is a culture that respects the individuality of human beings. Naturally, this also includes the broad and varied traditions of dishes, cooking styles and hospitality customs. We think deeply about the future of food and drink in our environment.
