You’ll have no problem filling your free time with the lavish program of activities available, from tennis, badminton, squash, and jogging or walking courses through the fields and forests to swimming or a nice relaxing round of golf. More unique activities can be enjoyed at nearby locations, such as gliding, exploring a stalactite cave, going on a paddleboat tour, or visiting the Signal-lduna-Park, the impressive arena of the BVB soccer team.
Unna is home to almost 1,000 years of history. Despite the extremely convenient location of the town at the gates of the Ruhr Metropolis, the landscape is still mostly shaped by rural farmlands and impressive farmsteads. Unna’s unique appeal lies in its unparalleled mix of urban influence and countryside flair. It has been verified that the extraction of salt has taken place in Unna since 1389.
Guests can go on foot or by bike to the sites of the once-great spa culture of Bad Königsborn, which ceased operations in 1941. When dusk comes to Unna, the night watchman guides guests to the most beautiful parts of the historical Old Town. Always adding a funny anecdote here or there, the medieval night watchman tells stories from his perspective about the people, places, and traditions of the Middle Ages.
Right outside our doorway lie the Sauerland, the venerable university city of Münster, and Dortmund with its Westfallenhallen, Westfalenstadion, Old Town, casino, and other highlights.
